Carl Harris grew up in Annapolis and was one of the first Black students to integrate Germantown Elementary in 1956. Mr. Harris completes all his work freehand. “Etching glass using no stencils, sand blasting or lasers brings a deeper inner connection to a picture.” Mr. Harris hopes that his work will create conversations and connections, and as the Capital Gazette reported, spread, “positivity and tranquility by creating art for people to view and enjoy.”

"Water Gardens" featuring rich contemporary renditions of water lily ponds and echoing water abstractions by Jill Hackney created from photographs taken in Monet's Giverny in 2017. The exhibition runs through June 27, 2025.
Jill Hackney currently resides and works in Pittsburgh, PA.
Alongside Hackney's work is the work of local photo realist painter Barbara Miller. Each of her paintings are a composition of seasonal bouquets of many of the flowers grown in her own garden near Annapolis. The "portraits" of overscaled flowers allow each to take on a personality within the composition. The theme of her vibrant work is beauty and joy.
Other water themed artworks on display are by photographer Bob Petersen and abstract painter Isabelle Robinson both from Virginia.
